Interesting.
At least according to CNN-SI...developing
What we've got here is failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach, so you get what we had here last week which is the way he wants it. Well, he gets it.
Interesting.

Yep. Manny to LA, Jason Bay to Boston and 4 minor league players to Pittsburgh.

Wow, after seeing some details, the Sox really screwed themselves over with this one. They must have REALLY wanted to get rid of Manny.

They did, and as a Sox fan, I'm glad to see him go..
No one is clutch like him against the pinstripes, but oh well, the past year he hasn't hustled 1 time
Need A Penny? Take A Penny...Need 2 Pennies? Get A Job!!!

Heard rumor though that since the trade was announced, Manny has put on 10 lbs already.

Well after all of this, Yanks SHOULD be AL East champs
Don't get ahead of yourself Raider! I would love the Yanks to win the East but Tampa is playing great and the Red Sox are still going to be tough! But Manny was a Yank crusher so I'm glad to see him go!!!

Only chance for the Sox is if this is addition by subtraction. I definitely think the Yankees made some moves to help themselves, and they probably will win the division. Part of me thinks the Sox may pull off something else with waivers but it will be a challenge. What bothers me is the Sox giving up 2 minor leaguers to make it happen, and the money. I liked Moss, although I'm not sure he was a starting player anywhere. I think Hanson would develop into a major league closer, he just wasn't there yet.
Truthfully, if the players union wasn't such a force, the Sox should have just suspended Manny the rest of the year, paid him his money and let his value diminish. I called it earlier today though, if he got traded, LA was the perfect environment for him, since it's a lot more of a laid back fanbase.
I just think Manny got delusional, he's thinking there is a 100 million/4 year deal out there for him. There aren't many teams that can afford that, and while he can hit like nobody's business, he's going to be even more of a defensive liability. So odds are he should be a DH, and who is going to pay that money for a DH? If Manny had a clue, he should have played hard this year, made the Sox pick up his option and been happy. I don't think he'll approach 20 million next year, but there be someone crazy enough to do it.

Jason Bay can hit--not like Manny, but he can hit, and he plays a million times better D than Manny does.
I wouldn't count Boston out just yet. They're gonna love Bay in Boston.
